As a photographer, we are always trying to improve our skills and learn. Everyone does things a little differently, and being part of the Phoenix Comicon Visual Media team I have learned new things nearly every time I have worked with any of the other photographers or participated in a clinic.
This time of year, with the holidays coming up, people tend to think about getting some new pictures done. Whether it is for holiday cards, updated photos for their home, or for family sharing, I love to be able to capture the growth and changes from year to year.
This October, as we do every couple of years, my wife and I took our two boys home to Michigan to visit family. As it typically is, I try to capture some time with family as well as get a few photo sessions in for special events or for family members.
This time around my sister was getting ready to have her baby (she was actually due during our time home, though it didn’t end up working out for use to meet little Jaiden. Here are just a few photos that we captured while I was home.
Last weekend I was honored to capture a session for a couple of good friends: their daughter Emma’s first birthday/smash the cake session!
Emma, at times, was less interested in the cake than her water cup, but she was a blast to photograph and all smiles the whole time. I wanted to share just a couple of her photos here.
Megan has been a friend of our family since my oldest son was a baby, so when she asked me to shoot her engagement session and upcoming wedding next year with her awesome fiancé Jaime, the obvious response was yes!
We decided on a few different locations in the metro Phoenix area, including downtown as well in the hills just south of Phoenix. The mix of urban and the southwest desert type feel worked well, and I’m excited to be part of their wedding in October 2015!
A short-noticed, small maternity shoot a few weeks back quickly turned into a newborn shoot with the arrival of MiaRose to Lindsay and Waldo Falcon in August. She was so precious for this shoot based in their home in the Phoenix, Arizona suburbs.
Recently I had the honor of doing a maternity shoot for some good friends of mine, Sam and Jennifer Shea. After talking for the couple of weeks before about what they were looking for and the areas they would like to have their photos made, we decided on a couple of places in downtown Phoenix with some great street art and some greenery.
